I can’t believe we are halfway through October. I’m going to blink, then it will be Halloween followed closely by Thanksgiving and Christmas! We have been celebrating my husband’s 40th birthday this past weekend. I even got crafty and made a deck of cards with the 40 reasons we love him. I am not a crafty person normally, but I was pretty impressed with how well it turned out. He loved it.
From this past week, the 21 Ingredient Chili from 365 Slow Cooker Suppers was really good. I tried to scale back on the chipotle chili powder and the white pepper though it still was quite smoky and spicy. E thought it quite spicy, but kept shoving spoonfuls in her mouth and alternating with her milk. She loves spicy food. C on the other hand only had one or two bites and declared it too spicy, which wasn’t all that surprising given he doesn’t usually do spicy.

Tuesday: Homemade Pizza with a Green Salad
Wednesday: Sunflower Zucchini Pie with a Shredded Carrot Raisin Salad
Thursday: Grilled Flank Steak with Roasted Potatoes and Asparagus
Friday: Fajitas with Leftover Flank Steak and Rice, Beans and Broccoli
Saturday: Freezer Leftovers
Sunday: Simple Supper
